Residential Visits

Redwood Park Academy positively encourages as many pupils as possible to access Residential Visits.  The benefits to the pupils are wide ranging with positive impact on their personal development, their self-esteem and their learning. They offer opportunities they may not otherwise have.  They are planned to meet the wide ranging interests and needs of our pupils and are exciting and fun.  We focus on life skills and teambuilding and encourage pupils to be as independent as possible.

Last year we ran several residentials including:

Outdoor Education residential for year 10s and 11s:

This was an overnight camping residential with kayaking down Chichester canal day one and day two saw a walk along the canal. Students in teams had to purchase their own food from the shop, cook their own dinner and breakfast and put up their tents up. Students has been practising these skills throughout the year. 

CYE residential for years 8 and 9:

This was a five day sporting residential in Chichester. Students participated in a variety of sports including raft building, sailing and team building activities. 

Dartmoor residential for KS4:

This was a five day residential on Dartmoor. This saw students participating in a range of activities including climbing, abseiling, walk on the moors and gorge walking.
