Horticulture

Since returning in September, we have been enjoying the fruits of last year’s hard work. It is Harvest time outside and our growing spaces have been very productive.

The orchard has given us a bumper crop of plums, apples and pears which we have been sharing and juicing together.

In the garden we have been picking chilis, sweetcorn, greens (and caterpillars!), tomatoes and even melons. We have also been harvesting elder wood and crafting it into beads to make necklaces, bracelets, fake moustaches and even dolls and puppets! Our hop plants have flowered and this week we have been producing crowns, tiaras and autumn wreaths.

We are looking forward to learning about and developing our garden maintenance skills as the leaves start to fall and compost making season begins.
