Welcome to Nelson Class one of our Key Stage 3 classes here at Redwood Park Academy.

Summer 2024

Nelson class have settled into life at Redwood Park so well and their first year has been a success. Friendships have grown stronger and every pupil has made so much personal growth which they can be proud of. The Nelson team have enjoyed watching the class make progress and celebrate each other’s successes.

We have really got stuck into several writing unit this year which have been enjoyed by all, especially writing diary entries as Bear Grylls on a survival adventure. Our extreme environment has been our favourite topic where we created our own volcanoes to explode and designed extreme environments in a box using our amazing creativity. Nelson class really enjoyed our trip to Marwell Zoo where we all got to see an animal of interest. The giraffes were a top pick! We have also loved our visits to Fort Purbrook where we got to climb the walls, practise our accuracy skills with archery and shoot the adults in Lazer Tag.

The class are looking forward to seeing what the next year brings them and having the opportunity to go on more trips and different residentials. They can’t wait to see what adults they can shoot at Lazer Tag next year!

Autumn 2023

 Welcome to Nelson Class!!

We are a brand-new group of Year 7s at Redwood Park and are so excited to see what life at our new school brings. Our teacher is Katie and we’re lucky enough to have three TAs – Sam, Gemma and Shay!

We are looking forward to experiencing lots of different things in Year 7 such as kayaking, visiting Fort Purbrook and a trip to Marwell Zoo. We are all very excited to getting started with our swimming lessons too.

This term our topic is Brilliant Bodies where we will be learning about our amazing bodies and all the weird and wonderful things our bodies can do. Nelson class thoroughly enjoyed our Stunning Start where we launched out termly topic but making wounds, visiting the sensory spa and participating in a Mini Olympics!

So far, we have all settled in very well and starting to get used to life at Redwood. We can’t wait to see what we can achieve across the academic year 😊.
