Welcome to Eastney Class one of our Key Stage 3 classes here at Redwood Park Academy.
Autumn 2024
Eastney have enjoyed their first week back at school!
We have really enjoyed being in year 10 and our options! In food technology some of us made Egg sandwiches.
During STEM we made loads of different bridges using different tools such as straws, tapes and Lego 🙂. We've been looking at what makes a bridge successful!
Summer 2024
Eastney class has done lots of fun and engaging activities this year! We have taken part in 3 key themes: Brilliant bodies, Incredible inventions and Extreme Environments. We have really enjoyed doing practical activities from making bones to a class volcano! We have had many laughs as a class! The class have enjoyed learning about a range of things!
In Brilliant Bodies, we enjoyed learning about the bones in the human body! We also looked at the digestive system which was really gross! But we will always remember it and we had a lot of laughs and gags!
In Incredible Inventions, we learned about how lightbulbs are made and made a water dispenser as a class!
In our latest theme, Extreme Environments, we made loads of fun and educational things! We made snow which felt mushy and wet! Yuck!! We also made own extreme environments where we focused on Antarctica!
In English, we have been looking at Jumanji and writing as if we were apart of the story.
As a class, some of our highlights include playing tricks on one another! Which we have found to be really funny and brought us to together as class.
Some of us went on the residential which was at Ferny Croft in the New Forest where we got to take part in a range of activities from raft building, gladiator challenge and crate building, to seeing wild animals! It also gave chance for some of us to be more independent.
We have recently enjoyed taking part in Maths challenges where we focused on budgeting. We had our own restaurant where students took turns in buying and selling goods! Even had table service! We have also enjoy trips offsite! We recently went to Fort Nelson where we went through wind tunnels and looked at a range WW2 weapons!
We are looking forward to Redfest because our family get to come and enjoy the day with us! We are also looking forward to a restful 6 weeks off! To prepare us to come back and join KS4 and do our options in year 10!
This is what some of the pupils had to say...
Sam - ‘’I have enjoyed making new friends in Eastney!’’
Alicia - ‘’I really enjoyed doing Dragon’s Den!’'
Autumn 2023
Hello, we are Eastney.
We are a group of year 9 students who make up Eastney! We are made up of a range of personalities and enjoy a lot of different things but work well together as a class. We are supported by Charlotte, Jo, Misty and Claire.
We have been doing lots of fun and practical lessons throughout our time in Eastney. During our class time we have enjoyed a range of tasks! From making the bones in our bodies to going out to the garden with Ed and looking after the chickens.
We are looking forward to exploring life in Year 9 and can’t wait to tell you all about it 😊.
