Humanities
What is the subject objective?
The curriculum objective is to develop key skills of enquiry, investigation, and critical thinking through a good quality learning experience that is interesting and enjoyable and leads to positive outcomes for pupils working at Entry Level.
The study of Humanities aims to develop pupils’ sense of place, both locally and globally as well as an understanding of the geographical concepts of physical and human processes which shape our world. Pupils develop understanding and awareness of the world around them today and in the past. They will learn about people in their communities and other communities around the world and how world events shaped history. Pupils will complete projects to help develop their skills in preparation for the wider world.
How is the subject delivered?
The Entry Pathways Humanities course is based on traditional Humanities subjects including:
- History
- Geography
- Religious Studies
